Commencement Address of Steve Jobs Summary


               It may sounds mainstream to say ”Everything happens for a reason.” but that’s how I perceive Steve Job’s Commencement Address. Whether we like it or not, some plans or goals does not work with our own way and that’s okay. At some point in our life, we always have this though, where should we go next? Where is our own direction or destination? How did other people come up in that situation and be successful? Too many questions left unanswered, always the same thing repeatedly.

                  As we, humans, fear being leave out we tend to try stereotyping the basics of the basic. Education is the key to success that is how over the centuries and decades of saying goes. Nonetheless, reading the commencement address of one of the successful man in the earth ruins the stereotype cycle of thought of how can we be successful in life by just going to school. Indeed, education is not really the key to success but the perseverance and hard work is. Educational does not mean to be the key, but only to guide as what we really want in life.

             Passion and career is rarely mix well in our life. Sometimes our passion, always leave us the thought: Is this going to make me successful some day? Would it make me happy at the same time be rich? However, passion always seems not as the first choice as we always thought a work or career that will help our family and daily living. As Steve Jobs said, “You’ve got to find what you love.”, in this world its so hard to find something you love (passion), that will make you successful someday and we tend to do things in a practical way. 

             Especially, when things goes beyond mess up and does not follow up with our plans. Things turns out not so good, and everything seems to be dull and faulty. Indeed, human mindset always knows no as a sign of bad things without looking the big picture. As Steve Jobs experience devastating things in life, he did not let those failures and disappointments stop him where he should be.
